Award winning Connie Fisher returns to play Maria
AWARD WINNING CONNIE FISHER RETURNS TO PLAY ‘MARIA’ IN ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER, DAVID IAN AND THE REALLY USEFUL GROUP’S LAVISH PRODUCTION OF RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN’S “THE SOUND OF MUSIC” AT THE MANCHESTER PALACE THEATRE 6 – 17 SEPTEMBER
Andrew Lloyd Webber, David Ian and The Really Useful Group are delighted to announce that Connie Fisher will return to play the role of ‘Maria’ in their smash hit production of the legendary Rodgers and Hammerstein musical “THE SOUND OF MUSIC” when the show returns to the Manchester Palace Theatre from Tuesday 6 – Saturday 17 September, Box Office 0844 847 2275 www.palaceandoperahouse.org.uk. The news comes as Connie receives the prestigious Manchester Evening News Theatre Award for ‘Best Actress in a Visiting production’ for her portrayal of the role of ‘Maria’ at the Palace Theatre in Christmas 2009.
Connie Fisher won BBC 1’s “How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?” and played the role at the London Palladium for 15 months, to critical acclaim. Before reprising the role for the UK tour she starred in the Menier Chocolate Factory’s production of “They’re Playing Our Song” and the ITV drama “Caught in a Trap”.(Connie Fisher is not scheduled to appear at all performances; patrons should check with the ticket office before purchasing your tickets).
